Well, it is official! I did open my own company here in Sofia, Bulgaria. My company is about Innovations Management Consulting. There are plenty of companies that will do the job you seek - you will let them in, show them what you do and explain them what you think the problem is and then they will come up with a solution and they are gone. I know, I've been there, done that!
Well, I do not want to do that anymore! I want to educate you how to find solutions on your own. And literally give you the know-how. I was educated to use a very particular tool for creative solutions on every problem connected to Business Administration and the company's core product. I will not go into details, but I do want to tell you why I think you should hear me out and maybe... just maybe afterwards you will become my client.
When I left Bulgaria 8 years ago, I had no idea what creativity even means. And there I was sitting in a classroom learning about the different techniques a company uses in order to find a creative solution to a specific problem. I was also put under one of those techniques and I learned how to use it and why it was created the way it looks today. This technique is called The Creative Platform. I am pretty sure you haven't heard about it, but if you have - well then you know what it is all about.
The Creative Platform is a combination of lateral, horizontal, vertical and parallel thinking. It is the result of allowing oneself to think creatively without any obstacles and restrictions. Imagine the following situation - you are an IT specialist, you know everything there is to know about computers. You can probably fix a broken laptop and at the same time reinstall Windows 10 on two other laptops. You are also a gamer - you do online gaming by night and you work as an IT specialist for a big company by day. You do a lot of adventure sport - rock climbing, paragliding, river rafting, etc. You are by definition - adrenaline junkie. You also don't like to be in a crowd. You have a bunch of friends, with whom you play games, but you are definitely not the social person. Me, on the other hand, I am more of a person, who likes to travel the world. I am surrounded by my friends and love going out for a beer. I am a customer sales representative for the same company that you are working for. However, we don't speak and we are definitely not friends, I am not even sure I met you, while working for this company. What happens is that our company asks us to participate in a compulsory workshop for finding a solution to our latest product development issue. We have launched a new application and it is not working properly as expected. We are supposed to fix the issue. So we go to the workshop and we end up in the same group together with 4 other people from different departments.
The theory behind all this is the following: you have different knowledge than me. You are definitely more capable of finding out what is wrong with a computer than me, you have more experience in online gaming and your introvercy is making you focused on the product itself rather than anything else. I am, on the other hand, an expert in customer support. I have deep knowledge in Business Administration and my social skills allow me to find out what does a customer want. Each of us has the so called - Mental Library that is the combination of all the knowledge that one possesses. The combination of all Mental Libraries is called - Knowledge Database. Theory states that using such a diverse Knowledge Database, a creative solution will emerge, when restrictions are absolute.
What makes this Platform a unique technique is the usage of the Knowledge Database. The technique is created to be used in a circular process. There are 6 steps that a participants goes through and those 6 steps can be repeated in the duration of the workshop itself. All the steps contain a series of exercises, which lead to the Problem Solving stage. Of course, this is just the jist I am giving you. Otherwise, you won't buy this product from me and you will do it yourself.
The Creative Platform is customizable, complex creativity technique that is as said before used in Business Administration problem solving processes. This technique is the work of a professor as his PhD Doctoral Dissertation for the Aalborg University, Denmark. With his support, of course, I am planning in spreading the word for his work, because I believe this is one of the few innovations methods that will bring the world of business innovation to the next level.
